The SERVICE ONE Social Venture Catalyst aims to support socially-conscious businesses to grow and thrive through its partner, Mill House Ventures. This crowdfunding initiative powered by StartSomeGood will help selected for-purpose ventures raise funds to bring their business ideas to life.

As a social enterprise, SERVICE ONE Alliance Bank is passionate about supporting other for-purpose ventures become established in the ACT and surrounding NSW region.

SERVICE ONE has provided seed funding to kick start the crowdfunding efforts of the following ventures. These local social entrepreneurs need further support, so get behind these entrepreneurs by contributing to their crowdfunding campaigns on StartSomeGood.

Accountability Mate Program – Addressing Domestic Violence

This program will provide skills, knowledge and training to men who want to make a difference and reduce the incidence of domestic and/or family violence in the community. The program will harness the positive levers and influence of male peer relationships by giving men the skills to know when and how to intervene safely if they are concerned someone they know may be at risk of using or escalating violence against their partner or children. The program will work with experts and connect with frontline services to ensure men get the right support at the right time to prevent further abuse, stop preventable harm and reduce the rate of domestic homicides.

MAGIC DiversiTEA Cafe – Migrant and Refugee Support Services

This project will provide training, practical work experience and social engagement opportunities to a diverse range of migrants in Cooma and the region. The cafe will provide a platform for cultural conversations, the sharing of traditional tea and snacks and will help migrants and refugees settle in the area.

Climate Factory – Building of a pilot micro-forest in Canberra

The micro-forest will take action against the increasing urban temperatures by mimicking a natural forest with a dense pocket of vegetation that includes trees, shrubs, ground-covers, climbers and perennials. The micro-forest will cool the landscape, provide habitat, absorb carbon and provide the community with hope for a brighter future. The pilot micro-forest will be used to trial a community-funded re-vegetation model that could be applied to areas of need across Canberra.

Getaboutable.com – Accessible Tourism for People with Disability

The Asia-Pacific Accessible Tourism Conference and Expo (APATCE) will create awareness of the size of the accessible tourism market, provide the accessible travel/leisure sector and accessibility-related infrastructure suppliers a forum to market directly to their target customers, and give individuals with accessibility needs exposure to options for travel/leisure activities.
